When we heard Ice Castles were somewhat close to our area - we knew we had to see them in person. So we decided a road trip would be in order to view the Ice Castles in Wisconsin Dells. Did it disappoint? Definitely not.
The Wisconsin Dells Ice Castles Location boasts a convenient spot right on a Mt. Olympus property (look for the Trojan horse) and can be seen from the busy road. Some highlights of our visit include:
Amazing. Simply put – it’s amazing what the people behind this spectacle accomplished. The ice formations and icicles are so such a pretty blue.
A gorgeous setting for pictures. Instagrammers will have a field day! I was quite bummed that my phone decided to act up, so I didn’t get to take a million photos as I normally would have.
Interactive. Kids (and adults) could crawl through ice tunnels, go down slides, and walk through a small ice maze.
The kids had a blast and were quite enamored with so much ice surrounding them. Me on the other hand? I couldn't take enough pictures! Here are a few (more on my blog). And rest assured any picture taken will be awesome!
Bottom Line: The kids had a wonderful time sliding, crawling, and being surrounded by the ice wonderland. I loved taking photos of everything – you don’t see this every day. Would we go here again? If we were in the area, yes, but we wouldn’t make a drive all the way for this. However, I do think that it is definitely something someone should see at least once in their lifetime. After all, how ofter can you say you’ve been to an ice castle?
